Marking a year of the Dysfunctional Tower Hamlets Council - Old Flo - 1

UPDATE a year on from that interview presented by Charlene White on ITV London who spoke to Tower Hamlets Councillor Rania Khan about the then "row" over the sale or no sale or the claim or no claim on the sculpture “Draped Seated Woman” or “Old Flo”.

I am interested to notice that in her statement justifying the ‘stance’ of Tower Hamlets Council over “ownership” to the “Old Flo”, Rania Khan made three points.

I summarise those here:

THAT

1. Tower Hamlets Borough has “the highest child poverty rate”

2. Tower Hamlets Council has “23,000 people waiting on the housing waiting list”

And the 3rd point came across when the presenter asked her a question about the hypothetical sum of money not likely to be going straight to “the disadvantaged” in Tower hamlets. Rania Khan reassured Ms White as follows:

“...you’ll be surprised how quickly (we can?) turn things round in Tower Hamlets”

THAT is INDEED a surprise to me!
