ACTION UPDATE on the Social dislocations by Crossrail hole plan that Kay Jordan warned about when she spoke at the KHOODEELAAR! Manifesto Seminar on Sunday 19 March 2006.

The © Muhammad Haque Daily Ethical Commentary ACTION UPDATE on the Social dislocations by Crossrail hole plan that Kay Jordan warned about when she spoke at the KHOODEELAAR! Manifesto Seminar on Sunday 19 March 2006.

This UPDATER takes into account the belated awareness shown about the dangerous Crossrail  Big Biz agenda ploys that has become visible now in North Woolwich and in Newham, situated to the East and to the south-East of the East London borough of Tower Hamlets where Khoodeelaar! campaign against the Crossrail has been active since February 2004.

Kay Jordan spoke to the KHOODEELAAR! Manifesto Seminar on Sunday 19 March 2006 without any apparent notes. Yet she addressed every aspect of the matter with acute
relevance and insight. As she spoke, she looked as un-rested as she often did when tackling multifarious issues each one warranting her total attention through each day that stretched to beyond the ordinarily allotted number of hours and minutes and seconds.
She spoke [see my full report of the time below] of her concern about the social dislocation and destruction that Crossrail hole would cause.
The North Woolwich and Newham CONCERN are real, as we knew at the very outset of our campaign against the agenda that Crossrail was being used to push forward. It is the Big Biz agenda. It is the City of London INTEREST agenda. It is, in the logical, final context and analysis, the Neo-Cons agenda of scrapping Society.
This is why the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign has been conducing daily vigilance through original research and diagnosis and we have been showing how the vaunted “benefits to the East End” communities have been nothing short of a criminally irresponsible and anti-Society lie.
NOTHING that the UK central Government’s Department for Transport [the VERY DAFT DfT] has EVER said about the real purpose behind the Big Biz backers and stooge-controllers of Crossrail has been true.
What is witnessed daily across the entirety of the UK railway infrastructure is evidence of the Neo-Cons treating the public resources as a target for the corrupt and the greedy and the privateering exploitation at the expense of the public service and the public good and the public benefit.
The North-Woolwich and the Newham “protesters” merely confirm the anxieties that Khoodeelaar! has been accurately predicting and pointing to.... And concerns that Kay Jordan articulated in her speech on Sunday 19 March 2006

QUOTING the Muhammad Haque report of 19 March 2006 as based on the speech and the thoughts of Kay Jordan:
Kay Jordan said that she was also very concerned about the social dislocation and destruction that the Crossrail hole would cause.

She said that she found it very hard to see any logic or reason in how the ‘Borough’ of Tower Hamlets [the Council] had behaved on the matter.

Crossrail [interests] had conned us all, said Kay Jordan.

Our reports on the Khoodeelaar! Manifesto 2006 Seminar held on Sunday 19 March 2006 started with Kay Jordan’’s address to the Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail-hole-Council Seminar

The Tower Hamlets Council lies on the Crossrail hole

Kay Jordan
Architect and
Director of the Spitalfields Small Business Association
[Brick Lane London E1 area]

Kay Jordan spoke of her long experience working in the community in the Brick Lane London E1 area.

She said that as an architect she knew how to look at a foundations and how to make sense of it. And to her, the Crossrail hole plan and foundations did not make sense.

Not when they were compared with the puff and the publicity that Crossrail had been making about the hole plan.

She said that she had also spoken to people with expert knowledge on tunnel construction and on railways.

In their views, the Crossrail hole plan was dodgy and unnecessary.

The devastation that the Crossrail hole would bring to the community in the Brick Lane London E1 area would be huge and irreparable.

She referred to the ‘Arup’ report which contained far more detailed acknowledgement of the warnings that Khoodeelaar! Campaign had been giving to Tower Hamlets Council about the hole than would be admitted by the present holders of controlling positions on Tower Hamlets Council

Kay Jordan also mentioned the fact that Crossrail had admitted to her to paying £1 million to Tower Hamlets Council for the ‘alterations to the foundations’ of the ‘Idea Store’ Whitechapel.

She said that she found that sum way out of proportion. Explaining the relationship between the cost and market value of the whole ‘Idea Store’ Building, Kay Jordan said that the sum of £1 Million seemed very dodgy and a mysteriously large amount for the alleged foundations alterations ‘work’.

There was more to that £1 Million payment by Crossrail to Tower Hamlets Council than may at first appear even from that portrait of Council misrepresentation of the Crossrail hole facts.

[More summaries will be published here in the next 48 hours from the speech by Kay Jordan at the Khoodeelaar! Manifesto 2006 No to Crossrail-hole Council Seminar held on Sunday 19 March 2006]
