PART of the diagnostic examination of the corruption that has been reinstated in the East London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council during the past 20 years.


Why do I say “reinstated in the East London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council during the past 20 years [.] ” ?
Because in the wake of the then SDP [= ‘Liberal’ ‘Focus’ Team/Group] take over of the Council [1986 - 1994], the previously entrenched and corrupt clique had been INTERRUPTED in various ways.

One was the affiliations on ‘Party’ lines. Because of that interruption, and I say mo more than that, the clique needed a few years to regroup. Which it did in the middle of the SDP ‘hold’. And once the SDP was ousted, the older elements got back together. Not always on the Council’s payrolls. But in effect in shaping the agenda of the Council. That regrouping has led to an unprecedented deterioration of democracy in the East End. And the process of the decline has been exacerbated by the corruption inside the Labour Party in the same East End Borough of Tower Hamlets.
