Guilty of fighting for the East End community! And proud of defying the rich and the wealthy! [1]

They marched to the High Court and possibly to prison!
Who were they? East End councillors, of course! And the reason for their march? To protect the deprived community from the unfair, unequal burden of tax that was being imposed to keep the wealthy London boroughs and institutions going while the poor deprived East Enders lost out and went without! I have written too much already. Time to pause! Of course I have left out the little matter of the time when these events took place. They did not march this past week. Nor in the past year. In fact the march took place nearly a hundred years ago! In 1921!
