The headline to your online piece is accurate and sustainable.
Unlike the many areas of Tower Hamlets where perfectly usable buildings are socially deserted and condemned to be occupied by strangers who are neither deterred nor discouraged let alone being ethically morally legally and democratically disciplined.
This is a brief comment just updating the ongoing degeneration of society that once used to be lived on these former human neighbourhoods across Tower Hamlets. Yet these pl;aces are not even four miles from where Denis Mcshane uttered those inappropriate comparative words about ‘third world’ countries in the House of Commons yesterday. And they are in fact in the same borough where Toynbee Hall in the Commercial Street London E1 is.
It was from Toynbee Hall that David Cameron last month issued his justification for the de facto assault on those parts of society that weren’t working according to him. In Tower Hamlets, cameron need not have bothered. Crime is now the received culture on many parts where no known culture of responsibility is visible. How wonderfully alive and kicking the British values that Cameron boasted of have been in these parts! You will be lucky to meet even one elderly lady walking her dogs on any of the streets, let alone come down any of the stairs that are not littered with lethally unhygienic human discharges!
These strangers are from ‘other parts’ of the same borough.
They are treated as aliens who cannot be seen by CCTV nor can be approached by the police. These strangers are making the visible people invisible. Now, Cameron has already cleansed the decent society out of their homes and made the place open and occupiable by these strangers! This is the real death of housing! Unlike the 'idea' of your headline, it is real life housing that is being destroyed in Tower Hamlets. And this has not featured in the 'democratic' Tower Hamlets Council's serious debates for over a decade now!
