By © Muhammad Haque Ethical Commentary on the corruption that “democracy-loving European leaders practise to show their respect for true democratic values...” Nikolas Sarkozy [1] .
So what is the most dominant feature of “democracy in actin in Europe” this weekend?
The overdue confession by al the seekers of the peoples’ votes to failing, to letting the people down?
An even more overdue commitment to quit failing the electorate and to start delivering the democratic representation that has been promised but not delivered?
No way.
That is not dominating the “news” on “democracy in action across Europe” this weekend.
It is fraud.
Tune into any half objective “mainstream” media outlet and what you hear is one version of an excuse for fraud or another. Se fraudulence is blatant. As has been shown in the past hours from Moscow where “opposition to Vladimir Putin's election” is now being given a “post-fraudulent-election-day” appearance of boldness. That is easier to understand than the phenomenal perniciousness that is evident over in France.
And no candidate, not even Marine Le Pen of the French NF, has so far come across as being as creepy as Nikolas Sarkozy. He has embarked on yet another pro-racist stunt. Or on a series of pro-racist stunts.
And there isn’t anything more “certain to grab the attention of the genuine French voters than the spectre of “the Halal Meat “traders taking over, no, occupying France! That is what Sarko thinks will do the trick for him.
So he is worried about “Halal Meat” ! And about the rest of the contents that he keeps in his Palace for times of emergency.
This weekend he has unleashed the lot... Will it save Sarko’s “bacon” [this pun is trebly intended]?
Most commentators even in France doubt that Sarko has got the right target. He may yet sink come the full exercise of the complicated French electoral “franchise”..
