Those who hold elected posts either locally regionally or centrally in the UK are doing a disservice to their duties.

When the idea of democracy is undermined, discredited there is serious cause for concern. The downward slide for democracy is too ferocious now to be ignored.
This has been the slide in the West for a long time.
The idea of democracy is not a fantasy.
It is the foundation on which most institutions are given their claimed legitimacy.
Without this equation, Society would crumble.
Shaky and tottering through it already is the pretended legitimacy keeps the tottering structure standing.
From the local Council to the Houses of parliament, it is democracy that is claimed to be the source of the legitimacy that the Houses claim and assert.
Yet the elected place holders do not have valid claims to that legitimacy.
For most of the times, those who hold elected posts either locally regionally or centrally in the UK are doing a disservice to their duties.
