In contrast with the UK as a whole, the inner city deprived Borough of Tower Hamlets is in the grip of a bureaucracy at the local Tower Hamlets Council that is engaged in carrying out a pogramme of internal deportation.

CONTINUING to examine the evidence of the fakery paraded by “Dr” Kevan Collins, Tower Hamlets Council’s “UNDERCOVER BOSS” [Channel 4 TV 22 July 2010].
DID Kevan Collins, in his smug appearance on Channel 4 TV slot “UNDERCOVER BOSS” knowingly impersonate an employee of the Tower Hamlets Council?
I am asking this question a second time, at least. Why? Because the “UNDERCOVER BOSS” programme contains information that “Dr” Kevan Collins did know that man and the the latest research verified this week [09 May 2011] shows that the same man is still in place as an employee in Tower Hamlets Council. So why is this fact relevant to what “Dr” Kevan Collins, “chief executive” is or is not doing?
The fact is important because the man has been involved in creating poverty in Tower Hamlets and in causing a number of families to suffer deprivation that they would not otherwise suffer. So that raises the question about “Dr” Kevan Collins himself. In the Channel 4 programme UNDERCOVER BOSS as broadcast on 22 July 2010, “Dr” Kevan Collins boasted that he was the boss of a work force that was caring, honest and to paraphrase a newspaper TV critic of the time, “salt of the earth saints”! Surely none of those ‘saints’ would be or would have had a history of being involved in violating the rights of people in the Borough? So how does “Dr” Kevan Collins explain the facts as I am putting here about the role of that man that also appeared on the same pogramme with him and the man who has been responsible for casing serious hardships and damages to people in the same Borough, Tower Hamlets?

KHOODEELAAR! TOLD Westminster City Council so for years! As we have told other London councils over the same period. That spinning, faking and lying won’t do. Now that they are faking about housing and pretending to have some sort of ‘sympathy’ with the people in low income housing I am reminding them of the basic evidential diagnosis that we have made of their policies and their practices over the past DECADES. We say to Westminster City Council generally and their current fronter [Housing committee chair] Phillipa Roe in particular that in staging their ‘rent’ stunt this week they are forgetting that their looting of the low paid and the nopaid is still hurting more people than they will ever admit. THAT should be addressed. That is, Westminster must stop robbing the poor. And that is the very basic that they should do, for a start. Then they must get down to delivering the services that they have been denying the low income families and persons for years. No, for generations in Westminster City Council areas. [To be continued]

Councillor attacked for existing tenant 'raise rent' plan

A housing cabinet member at a London council is calling on the government to give authorities the power to raise rents for existing social tenants.

Conservative Philippa Roe, Westminster Council, said the power would enable the council to increase rent for more affluent households and use the extra cash to pay for more affordable housing.

Ms Roe said: ‘There is currently no policy in place to increase rents. However, we believe the overall system should be changed and that councils should have greater freedoms to set rents, which are currently set by central government.

‘At the moment we have a one-size fits all system which does not take into account any change in circumstances. In Westminster, we estimate that we have more than 2,200 households in social housing who are on over £50,000 a year, which is more than 95% of the working population earn.

‘We also have around 200 households who are on £100,000 a year but yet pay the same rents as pensioners, who are on low fixed incomes above the threshold for receiving benefits.

‘They have worked hard all their lives and therefore it is these people that we should be supporting and not those who do not need the degree of public support that these medium and high earners are getting.

‘By having the power to set rents, we could also then use this additional money raised to deliver more affordable housing to house the next vulnerable family.

‘What we would do in Westminster is take a look at what the person was earning and perhaps increase their rent by a small amount so they were demonstrably better off working but were paying slightly more in rent.’

The Labour group described raising rents as an ‘attack on middle-income earners’ and said it would drive hard-working families out of the borough.

Paul Dimoldenberg, leader of the Labour group on the council, said: ‘Putting up rents is just another way for the Conservatives to increase taxes for middle earners and will push many hard-working residents out of Westminster.

‘Why are they attacking hard-working residents, the backbone of the community?’
