Kay Jordan has been defending Brick Lane that stands right opposite the City of London enclave that has been encroaching on the East End. As a community architect that she designated herself, Kay Jordan has been ceaseless in her dedication. Something requiring more than ordinary human stamina and more importantly something more than ordinary care and dedication. Where Kay Jordan has found those she has never spoken about. But found those she has!
And boy! has she been putting them to the best imaginable use! Defending the East End has been defined by also defending the front-line street, Brick Lane itself. As she has been showing in her hands on, on foot march protecting Brick Lane and the feeder streets. Kay was on her feet on 17 January 2006, the day that Khoodeelaar! the Campaign against the Crossrail hole had decided to observe by holding a demonstration to coincide with that day’s first ever siting in the ‘Palace of Westminster’ of the “Crossrail hole Bill select Committee” [of MPs]. Kay waked in front of the march as the campaigns supporters paraded banners and placards against Crossrail in the hanbury Street, Spelman Street, Princelet Street, Brick Lane and back in the Hanbury Street.
