Brick Lane area councillor Fozol Miah warns the filth making late night revellers who threaten community health and safety

Brick Lane area council ward representative speraks out for the local community. Exclusive reports start here with Fozol Miah, Tower Hamlets Councillor elected by the community in December 2010, speaks here on the anti-social behaviour from “visitors” to the Brick Lane area that leaves the place a hazard to local people’s health and welfare.

Stand up for the community: fight for our rights! Fight for clean streets in Brick Lane

Fozol Miah warns late night foul players who leave the Brick Lane streets filthy.

The menace of late night revellers who either gather in Brick Lane or pass throwing the popular Lane leaving their unhealthy excesses all over the streets is not new. We have already reported on local resident and community activist Askir Miah complaining about the dire state in which the streets are left by these late night “users”.

We have also followed the complaints by the Brick Lane area Curry restaurants that have made similar complaints. We have chronicled in the past how the complaints to the Police and the local Tower Hamlets Council have not led to these hazardous revellers being acted on.

So we spoke to one of the three councillors for the very Council Ward [ the Brick Lane area is listed on the Council as the "Spitalfields and Bangla Town" ward] that includes Brick lane and nearby streets affected by the filthy “culture” of the “revellers”.

Fozol Miah has told us that he is on the case and is determined to stop the filth and the mess in the streets. He has already spoken to the Police and is following up on the complaints by residents. Fozol Miah knows a large number of residents, having grown up in the area and being one of small number of people who have actually taken on anti-social elements from an early age. Fozol Miah had been at the centre of community campaign when he found himself nicked after he defended the local community against an earlier, smaller, contingent of “threat-makers” to the community.

I was one of those who outside the community to get Fozol Miah released from Police custody. And I have also noted Fozol Miah’s movement in supporting the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign against the Crossrail hole.

Fozol’s by-election win last year is still accessible on the East London Advertiser online

Like Fozol Miah, Askir Miah too is a local activist who cares for the welfare of the community. We report on Askir Miah's latest activities against anti-social revellers, next.

Disastrous coverage in the name of "Tower Hamlets" "mayor v mayor"

Civic mayor told to catch a cab when he's wearing official robes
Peter Dominiczak, City Hall Correspondent
12 Sep 2011

The Civic Mayor of Tower Hamlets, complete with full ceremonial regalia, will have to travel to official engagements in black cabs after a row with the elected leader of the borough.
Mizan Chaudhury, the Labour ceremonial mayor, has accused executive mayor Lutfur Rahman of "abusing" his powers and stooping "to the level of the gutter" after he took away Mr Chaudhury's official car and cancelled an annual reception.
Mr Rahman won the borough's executive mayoral campaign last year after Labour sacked him as its candidate over his alleged links with the Islamic Forum of Europe and concern at alleged vote-rigging.
There was controversy, too, as Ken Livingstone campaigned openly alongside the Labour outcast. The latest row started after Mr Rahman ended the lease of Mr Chaudhury's civic car last month.
He took the decision despite spending about £1,500 a month on his own chauffeur-driven Mercedes.
Mr Rahman also cancelled an annual function organised by Mr Chaudhury, despite the civic mayor claiming he had arranged his own funding.Council sources today described the row between the men as a "power-grabbing exercise".
Mr Chaudhury believes that keeping his official car would have been cheaper than taking taxis to events. He said that without his car he is at risk of being attacked or robbed of his gold ceremonial chain. He was criticised this year after his driver was caught parking in a disabled bay.
In a series of letters seen by the Standard, Mr Chaudhury writes to Mr Rahman: "As you and everyone else are fully aware, the civic office is an important element of any council's function and carries over a hundred years of tradition of serving the people of its borough.
"What I don't understand is why you are trying to undermine the traditions and functions of the civic office? You may be the Directly Elected executive mayor, but there should be a limit to abusing your powers."
In a further letter, Mr Chaudhury adds: "By stopping the civic reception you will achieve nothing and time will prove that. You have stooped to the level of the gutter and that is exactly where you belong."
A council spokesman said: "Following the adoption of the elected mayoral system last October, the mayor is increasingly required to attend events that might previously have been undertaken by the ceremonial mayor.
"With this in mind, the chair's car was being under-used and was no longer considered cost-effective."
The spokesman added that safety had been considered and the ceremonial chain would not be taken on public transport.

KHOODEELAAR! No to "Big Biz agenda Scam Crossrail hole..." Campaign organiser © Muhammad Haque updates on Brian Paddick

KHOODEELAAR! No to "Big Biz agenda Scam Crossrail hole..." Campaign organiser © Muhammad Haque updates on his previous contextual diagnoses of the place-seekers and careers-seekers in the name of the people of London.

Bran Paddick’s entry into the routine vote-fodder and voter-grabbing operation as the Lib Dems’ “repeat” “candidate” for entry into the Onion now occupied by Boris Johnson, brings back the question of Paddick’s fitness for office. has he got the real grit and above a, has he got the real courage to claim that he deserves the trust and the confidence of the legitinate and the uncntmaniated voters? On the evidence fo Paddick’s failures on Crossrail the last time round four years ago, I think Paddick is not upto it. True he will get loads of attention. That comes with the game! But he has to do a lot of work before he can sell his candidacy as being seriously credible. On his records.

Muhammad Haque diagnosing David Cameron and exposing the shallowness that Brian Paddick has embarked on,,,,

© Muhammad Haque diagnosing David Cameron and exposing the shallowness that Brian Paddick has embarked on in his latest “bid” to enter ‘The Onion” in the name of the ordinary people in London.

Brian Paddick has not said a single original thing in his "new" appearance on the 'London stage'.
During his last "outing” four years ago as a London Onion-candidate, I had made express points of arguing for him.
But I found in time that he was “unaware” of or was playing being in denial about the crucial ethical, democratic and constitutional law requirement that I had placed on the record for him to meet: that he had to show he was consistent and that he was genuinely independent minded and that he was courageous on principle.
Paddick failed on all counts as he caved in dutifully to the secret forces that were in control of the practices and the roles of the Lib Dem Party at that time and so Paddick stopped condemning the Big Biz agenda scam Crossrail which had been the main point of reference that had drawn my initial attention to his then utterances.
In the item that I am here commenting on, Paddick is delivering another version of spin about ‘targeting and zeroing in on identified families’ that David Cameron has been uttering, in the wake of the "oxygen-of-publicity" [Maggie Thatcher] he was handed by the MIC operators who successfully dodged the real questions that arose at Tottenham just a month ago this weekend, and gave Cameron the twisted excuse to attack Society even more contemptuously and falsely than he had the legitimacy to do previously.
. BOTH Cameron and Paddick are way off reality.
Neither Cameron as Prime Minister nor Paddick as a potential, or, rather, wannabe London ’mayor’ can deliver anything without the democratic and the accountable and fairness-delivering framework of and infrastructure for Society being in place.
On that vitally defined ‘service’ Cameron and Paddick are, significantly, silent as they “deal with gangs, gangsters" and “broken families’!
Jokers is not the word to be used about Cameron and Paddick in this context.
Fakers almost is. Both are faking.
Worse, they are doing so opportunistically and irresponsibly. [To be continued]

Neither Cameron nor his pale imitation in context Brian Paddick can be bothered about really addressing Society's needs!
